Axon 40 Ultra ZTE Wins With Its Hidden Selfie Camera
The difficulty of concealing phone cameras has been ongoing for some time. The Axon 40 Ultra ZTE, on the other hand, may have finally made it with its Under-Display Camera (UDC).
As phone firms aim to make the most of the screen, the search for hidden mobile phone cameras continues.
The UDC on the Axon 40 Ultra ZTE
The Axon 40 Ultra ZTE's UDC is a 16-megapixel camera hidden beneath a 6.8-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 2480 x 1116 pixels. It sports three 64-megapixel cameras on its back: a 16mm ultrawide, a 25mm normal wide, and a 91mm telephoto lens.
What makes it interesting is its selfie UDC which is a challenge to develop. Fortunately, the technology used to conceal the camera under the display has significantly improved.
Its selfie UDC, which is difficult to develop, is what makes it intriguing. Thankfully, the technology utilised to hide the camera beneath the display has advanced dramatically.
The screen on top of the camera, according to ZTE, is blended with the rest of the screen after some changes to the pixel drive technology and how the circuits were wired. They also had some software changes that allowed the UDC to sync with the rest of the display without any issues.
The phone's selfie camera looks to blend into the rest of the screen, unlike Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 3, which is still visible.
However, if you stare at the phone's screen closely enough, you can see the lens in strong light, but it's not distracting. Even with white panels, the lens will be tough to see.
